Good news, SUN Bucks are Here!
Summer is almost here! There’s a new resource for families in our community: SUN Bucks! SUN Bucks are for families with children to access nutritious food during the summer when school is closed.
If you have children and have received CalFresh, CalWORKs, or Medi-Cal at least once during the 2023-24 school year, you will get SUN Bucks automatically. You will receive your SUN Bucks on an EBT card in the mail during the months of June through September 2024.
If you do not qualify for these programs, you may still be eligible for SUN Bucks if your family qualifies for the free/reduced-price meal income guidelines. Please submit a school meal form or “alternative income form” at for your child's school by August 31.
Each eligible child will receive $120 in SUN Bucks food benefits on an EBT card for the summer.
It’s important to protect your SUN Bucks because if they are stolen, they will not be replaced. Families have up to 122 days from when funds are loaded on their SUN Bucks card to spend them. After that, funds will expire and will not be available.

¡Buenas Noticias, Ya Llegarón Sun Bucks!
¡Ya casi llega el verano! Hay un nuevo recurso para las familias de nuestra comunidad: ¡SUN Bucks! Sun Bucks son para que las familias con niños accedan comida deliciosa y nutritiva durante el verano cuando están cerradas las escuelas.
Si tienes hijos y has recibido CalFresh, CalWORKs o Medi-Cal al menos una vez durante el año escolar 2023-24, recibirás SUN Bucks automáticamente. Recibirás tus SUN Bucks en una carta EBT en el correo entre los meses de junio a septiembre de 2024.
Si no calificas para estos programas, puede que todavía seas elegible para SUN Bucks si tu familia califica bajo los requisitos de ingreso de las comidas escolares gratuitas o de precio reducido. Por favor somete un forme de comida escolar o un “forme de ingresos alternativo” a la escuela de tu hijo antes del 31 de agosto.
