Dear Neighbor,
Dear Neighbor,
As we approach the end of the year holiday season, I want to provide you with an update on my annual book and toy drive, as well as some of the legislative successes I had in Sacramento this year.

Dear Neighbor,
As you may already know, Caltrans has been hard at work with its many repairs to Interstate 210. Earlier this year, I met with Caltrans leadership to discuss priority concerns in the 39th Assembly District and pushed to secure funding for cleanup efforts on our highways. This is a concern amongst many of my constituents, and that is why I prioritize updating my district with upcoming maintenance projects.
Dear Friends,
This has been a challenging year for our small businesses and nonprofits.
Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and nonprofits are the pillar of our communities. Back in March, I led the effort in the Legislature to ensure nonprofits are included in COVID-19 recovery efforts. They serve as a critical partner to state and local governments by providing and performing a wide variety of services that help our most vulnerable communities.
Dear Friends,
This has been a challenging year for everyone.
In an effort to make sure no families go hungry this holiday season, I have partnered with the Pacoima Neighborhood Council and Meet Each Need with Dignity (MEND) to host a Free Thanksgiving Food Distribution Drive-Thru and Walk-Thru Event. The event will take place on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 9-11a.m. at MEND in Pacoima.

Due to potential wildfire inducing conditions, Southern California Edison (SCE) has issued a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) warning for portions of our region today and tomorrow. Depending on weather conditions, the PSPS may be longer. My office is in constant communication with SCE as well as cities, school districts, public safety agencies and utilities in our district. While the exact locations of the possible PSPS are still to be determined, it is important to do several things to prepare.

Summer temperatures in California are no joke! With high temperatures expected for the near future, local cooling centers offer a safe and reliable way for you and your family to escape the heat. Keep in mind that hours may vary based on location, and face coverings may be required upon entering.
Querido amigo:
Every year, wildfires burn throughout California. As we experienced in the recent Saddleridge Fire, which burned over 8,700 acres, our community is not immune to the threat of wildfires. In the last few years, we have seen many communities, homes and businesses destroyed by wildfires.
